The current work aims to develop an Inactivated RVF vaccine for prophylactic immunisation of ruminants. After the virus is inactivated with binary ethylenimine (BEI), any residual BEI needs to be neutralized to prevent potential toxicity or interference with subsequent vaccine formulation processes. Sodium thiosulfate is a common and effective neutralizing agent for BEI.
