Supply and Installation of Electric Fence and Electrical Supply 1. Purpose The purpose of this RFQ is to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced service provider for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of an 8-line electric fence system, including the electrical supply infrastructure and connection to the backup generator. TIMELINE Expected delivery 9 October 2026 provided PO is received 2 weeks prior or earlier 2. Scope of Work The contractor shall supply all materials, labour, tools, equipment, transport, installation accessories, testing and commissioning required to complete the works. 2.1 Electric Fence The contractor shall: • Supply and install a complete 8-line electric fence system. • Supply and install electric fence poles at approximately 3 m centres. • Supply and install 8 horizontal electric fence lines. • Supply and install suitable insulators, tensioners, connectors and termination accessories. • Supply and install a suitable electric fence energiser. • Supply and install the required electric fence earthing system. • Supply and install electric fence warning signs. • Supply and install all necessary corner, end and intermediate poles. • Test and commission the complete electric fence system. 2.2 Electric Fence Supply Cable The contractor shall supply and install approximately: • 15 m of 2.5 mm² electric fence cable. • The cable shall be used to supply the electric fence system from the designated electrical distribution point. • The cable installation shall include all required glands, conduits/trunking, supports, terminations and accessories. • The contractor shall ensure that the cable is suitably protected against mechanical damage and environmental conditions. • The contractor shall test the cable and confirm satisfactory operation of the electric fence. Quantity: 15 m Cable size: 2.5 mm² Application: Electric fence supply 2.3 Main Electrical Supply Cable The contractor shall supply and install approximately 40 m of 25 mm² 4-core armoured cable from the designated electrical supply point to the new distribution board. The scope shall include: • 25 mm² 4-core armoured cable. • Cable glands and lugs. • Cable cleats and supports. • Cable termination at both ends. • Cable routing and protection. • Identification and labelling. • Testing and commissioning. Quantity: Approximately 40 m Cable: 25 mm² 4-core armoured cable 2.4 Waterproof Distribution Board The contractor shall supply and install a waterproof/weatherproof distribution board suitable for the installation environment. The DB shall include, as a minimum: • Waterproof/weatherproof enclosure. • 100 A main circuit breaker. • Neutral bar. • Earth bar. • Appropriate outgoing circuit protection. • Termination facilities for the incoming 25 mm² 4-core armoured cable. • Circuit identification labels. • Danger warning signage. • All required internal wiring and accessories. • Provision for connection to the backup generator. The contractor shall confirm that the selected DB has an appropriate IP rating for the installation location. 2.5 Backup Generator Connection The new distribution board shall be connected to the designated backup/standby generator supply. The contractor shall: • Provide the required generator connection. • Install suitable changeover equipment where required. • Ensure that the normal electrical supply and generator supply cannot result in unsafe back-feeding. • Complete all required cable terminations. • Test the generator supply. • Test the changeover operation. • Clearly label the normal and generator supplies. 3. Testing and Handover The contractor shall, upon completion: • Test the electrical installation. • Test the 25 mm² armoured cable. • Test the 2.5 mm² electric fence supply cable. • Test the DB and 100 A main breaker. • Test all 8 electric fence lines. • Test the electric fence energiser and earthing. • Rectify any defects identified during commissioning. • Provide test results and applicable certificates/documentation. • Hand over the completed installation to the OBP representative. 5. Site Verification The contractor shall conduct a site inspection before submitting the quotation to verify the actual fence length, number of poles required, cable routes, electrical supply point, generator connection point, DB location and site conditions. The quoted price shall include complete supply and installation, including all materials and accessories necessary to deliver a safe, functional and fully commissioned installation.
