Preparation of Employee for GMR 2.1 Certificate of Competency Examination

The service provider shall provide structured training on Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and Government Machinery Regulations (GMR) including duties and responsibilities of a GMR 2.1 appointee, legal accountability and liability, delegation of authority and legal appointments also including relevant sections of Driven Machinery Regulations, Electrical Machinery Regulations, Pressure Equipment Regulations, General Safety Regulations, incident investigation and legal reporting requirements, interaction with Department of Employment and Labour inspectors, general factory and plant operations machinery safety principles and guarding requirements, lifting machinery and tackle, pressure vessels, compressors, boilers, and associated systems, maintenance management principles, risk assessments and safe operating procedures, practical interpretation of statutory inspection requirements, explain the format and expectations of the GMR 2.1 examination, conduct mock written examinations based on historical exam focus areas, conduct mock oral examinations simulating Department of Labour panels, coach the candidate on structuring answers, interpreting exam questions, legal reasoning and practical application, identify knowledge gaps and provide targeted remedial training, provide comprehensive study notes aligned to GMR 2.1 syllabus, supply practical examples, case studies, and past examination scenarios, offer question-and-answer sessions and revision workshops, provide ongoing consultation support during the preparation period, provide GMR 2.1-aligned training programme and schedule, structured legal and technical study material, mock examination papers and feedback reports, candidate readiness assessment report, final recommendation on examination readiness
