The following topics must be covered: • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Identify different types of chemical hazards, understand their potential risks, and implement effective control measures. • Safe Handling Practices: Proper techniques for receiving, handling, and storing hazardous chemicals, including segregation, ventilation, and spill containment. • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Training on the correct selection, usage, and maintenance of PPE such as gloves, respirators, and protective clothing. • Emergency Response: How to respond to chemical spills, leaks, and other emergencies with guidance on first aid and decontamination procedures. • SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and Labelling: Understanding the information provided on SDS and how to interpret chemical labels for safe handling. • Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Become familiar with relevant laws and regulations governing hazardous chemical management. • Workplace Safety: Promote a safer working environment by minimizing chemical-related risks and encouraging safety-first behavior.
