Clean and Grind: Thoroughly remove all dust and loose debris. Diamond grinding or shot-blasting the concrete opens the pores and provides the necessary texture for the compound to grip. Patching: Fill deep holes, divots, or active cracks with a heavy-duty concrete repair mortar and let it cure. Prime: Apply a primer specifically designed for the SLC. This seals the porous concrete and stops it from sucking the moisture out of the self-levelling mix too quickly, which prevents cracking.
